Durham, N.H., June 27, 2019 -- The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), an independent provider of broad-based testing and standards conformance solutions for the networking industry, has received generous donations from the following industry partners Cisco, Liberty Mutual, QA Cafe, and Senet to support the continuation of the UNH-IOL High School Summer Internship program, HighTech Bound. Sponsors are directly contributing to the educational growth for 13 young professionals interested in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering in hopes of attending the University of New Hampshire.
“The HighTech Bound program has delivered a hands-on experience to over 100 high school students of whom most have selected to go into a STEM field,” said Jeffrey Lapak, Director, UNH-IOL. “We are proud that, as we enter our 14th year of the program, we continue to expand academic excellence by bringing in an even more diverse group of students from across the country and have the opportunity to expose them to careers and education in the technology field.”
HighTech Bound is a unique opportunity for high school juniors entering their senior year to gain experience working in the laboratory with dedicated mentors. The HighTech Bound program is designed to investigate emerging technologies, gain hands-on experience, research potential solutions, gain interpersonal communications skills, as well as prepare student interns for a future education in the technology field.
