Member Services Assistant

UNH-IOL is seeking a dynamic, self-starter to assist in serving as a Member Success Assistant in our Sales and Member Services Team. This paid internship position and job is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of sales and account management while working in a fast-paced and fun environment at a real business located on campus. The Member Success Assistant will work with the Member Success Manager to implement member engagement strategies and customer support initiatives. This individual is willing to learn, a team player with a positive outlook, and will develop an ability to manage multiple tasks while adapting to shifting priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to gain industry exposure working in a cutting-edge technology organization.

In this role, you will contribute directly to IOL's success by strengthening member relationships, enhancing customer satisfaction, and increasing sales growth for our testing and certification services.

We’ll teach you how to:

  • Support account management and testing service teams in nurturing customer relationships and driving sales activities.
  • Assist members and service teams at every stage of the sales process, from onboarding to the duration of their membership.
  • Aid in developing and reviewing contracts.
  • Maintain strong connections with members/customers through regular communication and fostering relationships to enhance member satisfaction.
  • Keep track of member activities using our Salesforce CRM platform.
  • Contribute to crafting proposals and presentations that highlight  IOL services.
  • Take part in customer-facing activities and industry events, including  IOL on-site events like plugfests (group test events) and site visits.
  • Engage in on-the-job training for specific technologies utilized by IOL industry service teams.
  • Commit to continuous learning and development in sales responsibilities, technical sales methodologies, workflow, time management, and project management to improve job performance.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • During the semester, you must be available between 12 and 20 hours/week, Monday through Friday, between 9 AM and 6 PM. Additional hours may be available.
  • Summer, winter, and spring breaks work 30-40 hrs/week.
  • Work days do not have to be consecutive and can be during the week based on your availability; for example, working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and working around your academic calendar. 
  • Hours may be flexible to accommodate vacation time and school commitments. Open communication with your supervisor about any schedule changes is necessary.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

  • Working toward a college degree in a related field, e.g., a major or minor in business, engineering, computer science, or a related STEM field.
  • Curious, fast-learning, and resourceful
  • Self-motivated and hardworking in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
